Welcome to Learn Drupal

Yep! This is Learn Drupal... it's a site about - yes you guessed it! Learning Drupal.

Drupal is an open source Content Management System that allows people to build websites, and to share information and media and all sorts of stuff in a flexible and yet sophisticated way.

The Learn Drupal website is here to help you learn how to create websites using Drupal, one step at a time. Through sharing tutorials, resources, and knowledge, we aim to help each other become good at Drupal, even excellent, and to share and give back to the Drupal Community.

This website is built as a project of The Coding Pad, and you can find all the step by step instructions on how this website was built, and how to build YOUR own website from scratch using Drupal at The Coding Pad.

Mainly to thank you for a great tutorial

Hello there I am Costas that left a short message to congratulate you in the codingpad area.

You are great and I am the proof of your excellence. I am in my late 72 (and still going). Yes I work with computers for a long time and have experience in HTML but min php etc. Up to now I have 3 Wordpress blogs (hosted under my account, a phpBB Forum and some HTML pages (my starting baby for free ads).

I am really impressed with Drupal and I think that I will change most of my sites to Drupal eventually. I am of Greek origin and some of my sites are 100% in Greek (unfortunately dealing with the political mess Greece is going through).

My new drupal site is http://greece-mylove.com/drup/ and to see some of my other sites start from http://ads.greece-mylove.com/ I think I have achieved a great deal in basically 1.5 day from start. I still have one problem with my very few pages. I cannot get them to show properly as links in the side bars. There is a pages link under Primary Links but it only includes one page. When I added a second page it was lost in cyberspace. I finally devised another method using the technique you suggested in your tutorial with regards to "A brief word about Drupal" which I liked so much that I copied it as is in my site. I made a new block, called it Pages_Links and placed it at the bottom of my right column (I think I will change position later). For now both pages are shown there as links, they need some work yet and I will use pages strictly for some help to users. They will not exceed 4 or 5 at the most, so I can live with the Pages_Links Block.

Other than that I don't' have any major problem, I changed the theme and will add some more pictures to it, I started a Forum and next I will try Blogs.

Once again thank you very much and I wish you all the best, so that you continue your efforts to provide the World with your help.
